Stitch In Time

The Inidana State Museum is holding a class called Stitch in Time: Conserving Your Treasured Quilts on September 17, 10am-noon. Learn how the museum stores, cleans, repairs and exhibits quilts and how these techniques can be adapted to modern and antique quilts in your own collections. Methods will be described in detail, wil small samples, suppliers lists and internet resources. Registration is $10 for museum members and $20 for non-members. Space is limited, call to register! The Purdue Extension Sewing and Quilting Seminar is Saturday, October 8, 9am-2:30 pm. The seminar will be held at the Hamilton County 4-H Fairground Exhibition Center. For more information contact Bernie Huber at 317-773-0854.

There are over 15 different types of pre-cut fabric, and manufacturers are constantly adding different and new names. Here are some of the most common names along with their sizes. Remember to always check the number of pieces and the size before purchasing!

Tip of the Week: Glue residue from interfacing can be safely removed with a dryer sheet! Layer a few pieces of newspaper on your ironing board, place a dryer sheet on top, and press with your hot iron.
